Industry and scale
A leading national automobile manufacturer operating multiple product brands and more than fifty vehicle models across recreational and touring ranges. Production runs across factory mainline and sub-assembly lines, with integrated dealer ordering, supplier coordination and ERP-backed inventory and invoicing.
Business challenge
The organisation invested in a custom production platform to unify capabilities their legacy system could not support: configurable order management, multi-level bill of materials, smart dealer recommendations, production scheduling, shop-floor Andon alerting, quality control, supplier management and AI-assisted analytics. The platform is the system of record for ordering and manufacturing data. Once an order is released to production, the ERP handles on-hand stock, part consumption and financial processes.
As adoption grew, several operational risks emerged:
- Dependency on a single developer who designed and built the platform
- Monolithic architecture without service isolation
- Direct point-to-point ERP and legacy integrations
- Limited automated testing and no CI/CD pipeline
- A single production environment with no dev or staging separation
- More than one hundred operational alerts on peak production days
Platform scope and business logic
| Area | Capability |
|---|---|
| Order management | Configurable vehicle options, order status lifecycle, dealer and internal sales workflows |
| Bill of materials | Multi-level BOM explosion, standard and specification BOM, model-year and brand structures |
| Smart recommendations | Rules-based pick engine for margin-aware dealer option selection during ordering |
| Production execution | Mainline and sub-assembly tracking, production stages and daily schedules |
| Shop-floor operations | Andon alert system with acknowledgement flows, pick lists, quality control and rework |
| ERP integration | Synchronised parts master, order release to production, on-hand and consumption handoff |
| Supplier management | Supplier schedules linked to production and procurement |
| Analytics and AI | Operational dashboards and conversational access to production and order data |
Technology landscape
React and TypeScript frontend, Python FastAPI backend, PostgreSQL database and Microsoft Azure hosting. Integrations with the organisation's ERP and legacy SOAP services. A separate AI chatbot service exposes APIs to the main platform for operational queries and analytics.
Valueztech contributions
Technical review and security assessment
A structured six-week assessment covering application architecture, code quality, integration design, security posture, performance and infrastructure cost. Deliverables include a current-state risk register, target-state architecture blueprint and prioritised remediation roadmap across security, performance, integration and delivery maturity.
Knowledge transfer and continuity
Structured knowledge transfer across every major module: item catalog, BOM explosion, order lifecycle, production and daily scheduling, supplier schedules, Andon alerts, quality control, pick lists, dealer workspace, ERP integration and AI dashboards. The objective is to reduce key-person dependency and establish a sustainable support team.
Continuous application support
An ongoing support model for defect resolution, production incidents, enhancement requests and stakeholder communication. Valueztech provides delivery oversight, quality assurance and access to full-stack development, architecture and application support capability.
Innova delivery for enhancements
New and changed capability follows Innova Project Management: a dual-stream Agile approach where Vision prototypes and approves requirements while Project builds and tests in parallel two to three week sprints. Stakeholders see tested software every sprint, with prototype-proven backlogs before production code is written.
Project methodology
| Phase | Approach |
|---|---|
| Discovery | Structured sessions with the incumbent developer and business owners across BOM, production and ERP domains |
| Technical review | Six-week assessment across architecture, security, performance, cost and integration design |
| Knowledge transfer | Module-wise walkthroughs, documentation and formal sign-off |
| Ongoing support | Prioritised backlog, incident response and transparent reporting |
| Enhancements | Innova dual-stream Agile with AI-assisted prototyping and sprint showcases |
Outcomes
- A clear remediation roadmap across architecture, security and delivery maturity
- Reduced single-developer dependency through team-based support and knowledge transfer
- A structured path toward CI/CD, environment separation and improved test coverage
- A sustainable enhancement cadence via Innova sprint delivery
